Thomas Ebenstein received his vocal training from Helena Łazarska at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw). He graduated with distinction in 2004 – Master of Arts. He also studied art song with Kammersänger Robert Holl. In 2021, he successfully completed the Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy (GPZ) at the Federal Association of German Vocal Teachers (BDG).

He has been teaching at the Richard Wagner Conservatory in Vienna since the 2021/22 summer term. Starting in the 2026/27 winter term, he took up a professorship in vocal studies at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK).

Masterclasses at Tunghai University (Taichung, Taiwan), amongst others.

He is a member of both the Federal Association of German Vocal Teachers (BDG) and the Association of Austrian Vocal Teachers (EVTA-Austria).
